About the Fellowship: Conferences

Geriatric Grand Rounds
Conference is held every Tuesday morning, 8:00 – 9:00 AM
Educational objective: formal presentation of a major topic in Geriatrics and Gerontology. It meets each Tuesday of each month. Once a month, the conference focuses on a major topic that is central to an ongoing research project.

ConferencesGeriatrics Clinical Conferences
Conference is held every Friday,
8:45 – 9:45 AM
Educational objective: Fellows and pharmacy residents present journal clubs, board reviews, or clinical case conferences in an interactive format with candid follow-up discussions among division members.

Geriatric Evaluation and Treatment Clinic Conference
Educational objective: Review and discuss patients seen in clinic the preceding week.

Geriatric Evaluation and Management Unit
Meets every Wednesday 9:45 – 10:45 AM
Educational Objective: Review and discuss all patients on the VA GEM Unit and consults and potential admissions in that week.

Aging Center Research Training Program Conference
Meets every Monday 9:00 – 10:00 AM, September through June.
Major areas of gerontology and geriatrics are reviewed by faculty members over a 2 year period.

Aging Center Distinguished Lecture Series
Meets one Thursday per month, September through June, 5:00 – 6:00 PM
National and international experts in geriatrics and gerontologic research present their work.

Fellows Clinic Report
Meets every Friday Noon – 1:00 PM
Fellows and faculty meet every Friday over lunch to informally discuss important cases and clinical issues and review the evidence relevant to that topic.

Medicine Grand Rounds
Meets every Friday, 8:00 – 9:00 AM
Topics requested by members of the Department of Medicine are selected by Chief Medical Residents, Department Chair, and Continuing Medical Education representatives.
